Offices can quickly get stuffy in summer and can just as quickly become chilly in the winter. The right air conditioning system maintains a comfortable temperature and environment for employees to work in, while still maintaining the visual aspect of the office.

What you need to know about air conditioning and legislation

Fresh air is something that we all take for granted. However for businesses, maintaining a suitable temperature and air flow is a health and safety requirement.

Local authorities will have their own practices and procedures, but as a general rule all air conditioning units need to be inspected regularly to ensure that they are operating safely and are clean.

How regular these inspections are depend on the size of the air conditioning unit but it’s important that anything unusual, like odours, is reported. Inspections also ensure that air conditioners are working efficiently, which can affect the amount of energy they consume and how much you have to pay on your energy bills.

Maintaining the right office climate

Keeping the office at the right temperature is one of the simplest ways of motivating employees and promoting positive wellbeing. After all, nobody wants to work in a sweaty office during the height of summer!

Our office air conditioning solutions ensure that the temperature is kept at a level everyone is happy with. Not only is this good for employee morale, but the right climate within the office also enhances productivity and focus.

Each office is unique and so will be the air conditioning solution. Choosing the right one depends on how many people work in the office, the size and layout of the room, and how well-insulated it is. And of course, how the unit looks is also a key consideration to bear in mind.

The types of air conditioning system available

– Wall-mounted units. These are best-suited to smaller offices which need less energy to keep them cool. They are also cost-effective as they can be installed without the need for a full redecoration. And because they are often fitted high up the wall, this style won’t affect the visual aspect of the office and still cools the entire room.

– Ceiling-mounted air conditioning. This style has become popular with the more modern offices out there today. The system can be a stand-alone feature or incorporated as part of a suspended ceiling, which again allows for an effective solution which fits in with your office design.

– Duct air conditioning. Though this solution tends to be the most expensive, it is the most subtle of the three we’ve listed here. Ducted air conditioning is effective in larger offices and, like ceiling-mounted solutions, are often part of a suspended ceiling solution with only the vents visible; all the ducts and cabling are discreetly hidden.
