Global Parts Center – First Floor Refurbishment

01| PROJECT BACKGROUND

Company Image were approached by CMS Cepcor, located in Coalville, for the complete refurbishment of the first-floor office area. The project was secured by providing a detailed and innovative proposal which met the client’s requirements, leveraging our extensive industry expertise and strong record of successful past projects.

PARAMETERS

  • It was agreed with the client that Company Image is to assume the health and safety responsibility of the site, completing all necessary site inductions for all trades.
  • The project involved seamless coordination with subcontractors employed directly by the client.
  • Regular communication with the client, including but not limited to, the fulfillment of several additional variation items.

02| BEFORE & AFTER

The existing space consisted of a fragmented first floor which included a large, isolated meeting room and several small offices. These areas combined both glazed and solid partitions, as well as furniture and a breakout area. The boardroom itself contained dated, single glazed partitions and ceramic tiled flooring.

The remaining open plan area featured a disused, uninspiring space in need of refurbishment. All existing partitions, furniture, and flooring were removed and replaced to form a vibrant, dynamic, and modern office environment which adhered to the client brief and designs.

03| CICI SOLUTION

The project involved installing new solid and glazed partitions. The client opted for double glazed partitions with integral blinds along with 75mm taped and filled partitions to form multiple offices and meeting rooms. Other partitions included 100mm solid insulated walls to form 4 new toilet blocks and a DDA. All new partitions were decorated and completed with timber skirting. New blackout roller blinds were installed along the length of the first-floor office.

Full internal decoration was applied to all areas on both the ground floor lobby and first floor. New ceiling tiles, carpet tiles and LVT flooring, as well as new wall and ceiling mounted Air Conditioning units were included. LED lighting, as well as power and data was included across the first floor to suit a new desk layout – the furniture for which was also supplied and installed by Company Image. A novel feature of this project was the installation of acoustic feature walls in the form of wooden slats; these added a stylish, contemporary aesthetic to the refurbished space. Company Image spearheaded the management of all trades onsite, resulting in a significant improvement to the first-floor office environment and a successful project as a result.
